Storytime - A Bob Shea Day

Toddler

Books

New Socks and Oh, Daddy! by Bob Shea

Songs / Rhymes: “Good Morning”, “Hello, How Are You?”, “Open, Shut Them”, “If You Have a Red Sock” game, “Five Little Fishies” on the felt board, “I Wiggle My Fingers”, and “The More We Get Together”.

Special Activity: I handed each toddler a cut out of a pair of socks, each a different color. Then I sang “If You Have a Red Sock”, substituting different colors for red. If the toddlers had the color I mentioned, they brought it to the front of the room and placed it in the basket.

Craft: Build a Hippo. Materials: hippo printout on purple paper, crayons, glue, and tape. The toddlers glued and taped their parts to make their own hippos. The template came from Crafts for Children.
