Flannel Friday Roundup: May 15, 2015

Are you ready to Flannel Friiiiiiiiiiiidaaaaaaaaaay?!!!!! Here are the posts for your flannelizing pleasure:

It's raining fun at Fun with Friends at Storytime! Kathryn shares with us a matching game using umbrellas. Wear your raincoats, kids, you're about to get drenched!

Nikki from heytherelibrary shows off her mad flanneling skillz that she learned over time. Those five little ducks are ready to play!

Brytani, otherwise known as The Neighborhood Librarian, is swimming by to say that her Bubble, Bubble, Pop prop (say that ten times fast!) is a hit.

Ms. Kelly at the Library is helping kids learn about being smart with their money with her post about Five Little Cupcakes. And now I'm craving baked goods!

Those monkeys just haven't learned their lesson yet! Luckily, Storytime Katie made them a bed for jumping on. She even has templates!

Get ready to leap over buildings in a single bound and fly as fast as an airplane! Storytime with Miss Tara has a clever idea that will make little superheroes pose for a photo.

My superheroes are ready to fight crime and make the world a peaceful place this summer.

Jane talks about how very super her school visits are at Piper Loves the Library. It really does take hearts and spirits the size of Gotham to pull off a fantastic SRP.

Great job this week, everyone!

Flannel Friday: Five Superheroes Ready to Fly

Though we're not doing the CSLP theme for SRP this summer, we ARE doing a fantasy theme. So of course I wanted to do a storytime on superheroes. Thank goodness for our very own library superheroes, Jbrary, and their plethora of songs about the topic.

The clipart came from cloudstreetlab's Etsy store (male set; female set). The sets are build-your-own, so you can play with the costumes, hair, and accessories to make your superheroes unique. I also got their monster pack for free and I can't wait to play with that! The heroes were printed out and laminated, and I intend to cut them out and add a magnet on the back.

Here are a few of the creations I made (the girl in all black is my villain!):

Here comes the villain, Stop that guy!
This superhero can save the day.
Off he flies - up, up, and away!
Count down from 4, 3, 2, 1

Thank you for joining us on this lovely Flannel Friday! Be sure to catch the final roundup, on my blog, later tonight.
