Happy Flannel Friday, everyone! I haven't hosted since July and I'm super thrilled to be back at it once again.
Put your link in the comments and I'll add it to our round up tomorrow (January 12).

Flannel Friday Roundup - April 21
Woooo! Friday! Let's see what our collective creative brains came up with this week in Flannel Land!
Three Jellyfish (Wendy from Flannel Board Fun)
You need to check out these jellyfish and rhyme! This is the perfect addition to your summertime ocean themes.
Paintbrushes (Nikki from heytherelibrary)
This is an Inspired By post for rainbow/spring/color/art storytimes. This game will get those little brains working on memory recall, as well as colors.
Shapes Poem (Anne from so tomorrow)
Anne is mixing National Poetry Month with STEM and storytime! I love the idea of using containers of different shapes to give the poem a sensory aspect, too.
Dirty Diaper (Mr. Keith from Felt-tastic Flannelboard)
Almost everyone has heard the agonizing cries of a baby forced to have their diaper changed. Mr. Keith's distracting song will work with changing clothes and baths, too.
Mouse Mess (Me!)
My coworkers designed these environmental print flannel boards to celebrate One Book 4 Colorado and the book choice, Mouse Mess.
Pete the Cat and the Missing Cupcakes (Tara from Storytime with Miss Tara and Friends)
Everyone loves Pete the Cat! Especially when he has delicious cupcakes!
It's an Orange Aardvark (Tara from Storytime with Miss Tara and Friends)
I'm in awe of this brilliant flannel retelling of this book by Michael Hall.
***Remember: you can also find Flannel Friday on Facebook, Pinterest, and at our Flannel Friday blog. If you're new to Flannel Friday, don't forget to add your name and location to our Where Is Flannel Friday map.***

Flannel Friday Roundup: November 4, 2016
It's roundup day! Let's take a look at the fabulous Friday felt fabrications for Friday.
WHAT'S THAT?! YOU'LL HAVE TO SPEAK UP! I'm having difficulty hearing you over these NOISY ROBOTS made by Kathryn from Fun with Friends at Storytime!
Whew, it's a little quieter now. We can hear these Five Christmas Cookies made by Kate at Felt Board Magic chanting their rhyme. Don't eat too many, or you'll get a tummy ache. She's even included a pattern so you can bake more this holiday season.
After all those cookies, I need to brush my teeth. Never fear, because these Five Little Teeth also made by Kate at Felt Board Magic are here!
If you're worried about the Christmas rush, we have an adorable fall felt board for you. Mr. Keith from Felt-tastic Flannelboard Funtime has made these cute leaves for Autumn Leaves Are Falling Down. And, as if you need more convincing, there's coffee involved.
Wendy from Flannel Board Fun shows us just what might be hiding in those leaves: Little Snail. This Inspired By Flannel Friday idea actually uses real leaves!
Our last post is from the amazing Miss Mary Liberry (I say this not just because we work together, although it might be super awkward if I didn't). She's made a felt version of Brian Won's Hooray For Hat with super cute animals.
***Remember: you can also find Flannel Friday on Facebook, Pinterest, and at our Flannel Friday blog. If you're new to Flannel Friday, don't forget to add your name and location to our Where Is Flannel Friday map.***

Flannel Friday Roundup 09/16/2016
Flannel Friday has come around once again! Was it just me, or was this week crazy? Let's blame it on the harvest moon, shall we?
Emily from Literary Hoots is getting royally silly with her "There's a Castle in the Middle of the Moat". Try this the next time you do a fairy tales or kingdoms storytime.
Keith from Felt-tastic Flannelboard Funtime shared his version of Dog's Colorful Day. The pieces are so detailed! They bring a whole new life to this favorite story and Keith even added motions for more fun.
Shawn from Read, Rhyme & Sing celebrates International Dot Day with a new twist on the old classic Little Mouse: Robot, Robot!
Speaking of Dot Day, Lisa M. from Libraryland turned Eric Litwin's new book, The Nuts: Sing and Dance in Your Polka Dot Pants into a fun flannel board. I love that she didn't use felt, but foam and puffy paint, instead. Flannels can be made out of so many materials!
Wendy from Flannel Board Fun has a two-fer for us today! Her Pot of Songs is a fun way to add a little bit of flexibility to storytimes, especially when you have a wiggly crowd! She's also getting in the holiday spirit with these fun Christmas finger puppets.
Jane from Piper Loves the Library shares what is probably the cutest program I have seen in a long time (at least since the stuffed animal sleepover craze). It's called Talk to the Animals and I guarantee it will make you squee with delight.
Fall is almost upon us, and Kate from Felt Board Magic has two apple-tastic posts to share this week. A-P-P-L-E is a popular piggyback of B-I-N-G-O, but Kate has added her own flavor to it with an extra "crunchiness." Ten Red Apples is a cute song that also introduces addition and subtraction. Yummy!
And lastly we have Kathryn from Fun with Friends at Storytime with a fun balloon song, Counting Balloons, that will be perfect to use on the windy fall days that are coming soon.

Flannel Friday Roundup - October 2, 2015
It's Flannel Friday? I'm still not sure, so let's ask Cookie Monster and Tom Hiddleston.
Alright, there's our answer. So on with the show!
It's October (finally)! You know what that means? Fall! Pumpkins! HALLOWEEN! Kathryn at Fun with Friends at Storytime helps us choose what costumes to wear with her Five Little Jack-o-Lanterns Shining Bright.
Shawn at Read, Rhyme, and Sing was inspired to make a Mr. Potato Head set by another Flannel Friday post. She even created a clever rhyme to help children with parts of the body.
Nikki at heytherelibrary is looking for her Little Cat who fell asleep under a hat. Can you guess where Little Cat is?
Laura at Library Lalaland and I have something in common: our first flannel was Five Little Monkeys Swinging in a Tree! And she's right, this one never fails to get the crowd going.
Time for a Flashback Friday (that's a thing, right?). The last time I hosted, Melissa at Mel's Desk debuted her first Meeow set. This week she has more pieces: more Meeow!
Jaime at Miss Jaime's Library Journeys has been hard at work making a Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons set. I love the idea of using Velcro on the buttons to help them keep the shirt closed. Good thinking, Jaime!
Jane at Piper Loves the Library has started a yoga storytime program called Yoga for Two. She's even managed to work in some flannel board fun!
Lastly, Nancy asked if I would post pictures of her imaginative and fun Shadow Children at Play. They are just too cute!
Next week is our Fall and Halloween Extravaganza! It will be hosted by Lisa at Libraryland.
***Remember: you can also find Flannel Friday on Facebook, Pinterest, and at our Flannel Friday Blog. If you're new to Flannel Friday, don't forget to add your name and location to our Where Is Flannel Friday map.***

Flannel Friday Roundup: August 21, 2015
What a great week, everyone! I'm as sad as most people to see summer go, but I'm looking forward to cooler temperatures and falling leaves, not to mention everything pumpkin flavored. And even though summer is winding down, Flannel Friday is still in full swing. I've loved seeing the fantastic flannel posts our contributors prepared for us. Here they are for your flanneling pleasure:
Camping is a favorite summer activity and Lauren has made this delicious flannel to celebrate a favorite tasty treat: S'mores! This rhyme will have you giggling and looking for some marshmallows.
Kathryn was inspired by Sunflower Storytime to make her own version of Two Little Sharks. Then she added more creatures to the under the sea party to make an even ten.
Danielle's two shark-themed flannels were inspired by Destination Storytime and ItsyBitsyMom. And sadly, she's moving on to Teen and Adult services and won't get to do her wonderful storytimes anymore. We hope you still stop by to chat with us, Danielle!
We're leaving the ocean behind to check out how Melissa brought Meeow's world to life. That playful kitty is hiding and it's our job to find him! She even includes ways to modify the flannel for different ages, proving once again that she is our resident genius.
Bonnie is continuing the Little Mouse fun with her own version, Ladybug, Ladybug. She even has a great idea on how to use it to focus a wiggly, giggly group.
Let's talk about fall! Ms. Kelly reminds us that the season of pumpkins and spice and everything nice is right around the corner with Five Little Apples.
Jaime is showing off a flannel she made when she was still a baby librarian, Fall is Not Easy. They're very intricate and a perfect way to share a favorite autumn story. And to think all that talent is right down the road (highway) from me!
Everyone did such a wonderful job this week. Thank you, Flannel Friday crew for being your usual amazing selves!

Flannel Friday Roundup: May 15, 2015
Are you ready to Flannel Friiiiiiiiiiiidaaaaaaaaaay?!!!!! Here are the posts for your flannelizing pleasure:
It's raining fun at Fun with Friends at Storytime! Kathryn shares with us a matching game using umbrellas. Wear your raincoats, kids, you're about to get drenched!
Nikki from heytherelibrary shows off her mad flanneling skillz that she learned over time. Those five little ducks are ready to play!
Brytani, otherwise known as The Neighborhood Librarian, is swimming by to say that her Bubble, Bubble, Pop prop (say that ten times fast!) is a hit.
Ms. Kelly at the Library is helping kids learn about being smart with their money with her post about Five Little Cupcakes. And now I'm craving baked goods!
Those monkeys just haven't learned their lesson yet! Luckily, Storytime Katie made them a bed for jumping on. She even has templates!

Get ready to leap over buildings in a single bound and fly as fast as an airplane! Storytime with Miss Tara has a clever idea that will make little superheroes pose for a photo.
My superheroes are ready to fight crime and make the world a peaceful place this summer.
Jane talks about how very super her school visits are at Piper Loves the Library. It really does take hearts and spirits the size of Gotham to pull off a fantastic SRP.

Flannel Friday - Thanksgiving Extravaganza Roundup
Thanksgiving is just three weeks away! Here are some flannels to get you in the eating mood!
It's a twofer from Kathryn at Fun with Friends at Storytime: Get your winter coat on, we're Going on a Turkey Hunt. Unfortunately, the Five Fat Turkeys have all run away, so it looks like we might have to have pizza instead!
Let your fingers do the dancing when you use Annie from So Tomorrow's turkey finger puppet.
Make sure you save some room for cake! Anne from itsybitsymom has a flannel version of The Cake that Mack Ate.
These Five Little Turkeys are ready for some fun! Check them out at Ms. Kelly at the Library!
This flannel board has me looking forward to some pumpkin pie! Thank you, Maggie, for sharing your Five Giant Pumpkins!
Speaking of pumpkins, these adorable jack-o-lanterns from Amy the One Little Librarian are sure to brighten anyone's day!
Jane at Piper Loves the Library featured community art projects at her library. It also looks like the spiders at her library had a party!
That's it for this week's roundup. Here are our upcoming events:
I hope everyone has a happy November! You can also find Flannel Friday on Facebook, Pinterest, and at our Flannel Friday Blog. If you're new to Flannel Friday, don't forget to add your name and location to the Where Is Flannel Friday map.

It's time for the extra special birthday roundup, as promised!
Kathy, who was a Birthday Princess yesterday, made her own version of Color Fish. She was inspired by Abby the Librarian.
Lisa from Thrive After Three is sharing her Five Little Princesses rhyme with us. She's even included templates! Could they be Birthday Princesses? I think so!
Hannah from Lovin' the Library is playing I Spy with Forest Animals. Can you spot the animal who sleeps all winter?
Fireflies are buzzing around Jane's library! Read all about her community art project at her blog, Piper Loves the Library.
Anne from itsybitsymom has a tres cute flannel of Five Dinosaurs in the style of "One Elephant Went Out to Play". Roar! Roar! Roar!

Flannel Friday Roundup - June 13, 2014
Who says Friday the 13th is unlucky? No one can have a bad day when you have Flannel Friday on your side!
First up: Father's Day is on Sunday, and Kathryn from Fun with Friends at Storytime has Daddy's Ties. Her post was inspired by Katie from Storytime Secrets.
Check out the absolutely adorable Five Little Babies from Kristen at Library Village! I want to pinch their cute little felt cheeks!!
Our Honored Founder, Melissa from Mel's Desk, is back with a flannel version of Zingy by Paola Opal. Opal's books are my new favorites for baby storytimes. Beautiful work, Mel!
Hannah has adapted Jan Thomas' book, Can You Make a Scary Face, into an interactive puppet show. Her changes will keep those kids hopping this summer.
Lastly, I made stick puppets for the swimmingly good song, The Slippery Fish.

Flannel Friday - Roundup
Welcome to the first Flannel Friday of 2012. I can't wait to see what ideas we'll come up with this year! So glad to see everyone back.
What a roundup we have today!
Shawn makes her Flannel Friday debut with her blog Read, Rhyme, and Sing. She has several cute ideas, including Hot Cocoa Math; The Tallest, Smallest Snowman; and light box activities. Plus, she has some mittens that were inspired by Library Quine. Let's give Shawn a great big welcome!
Kari Ann, another debut Flannel Friday-er, is keeping things cool at her blog, My Storytime Life. Her polar bear antics were inspired by the book Bear Play by Miela Ford.

Erin at Falling Flannelboards is counting in the new year with Number Birds. A versatile activity that can be use for counting or sorting.
Over at Recipe for Reading, Katie has shared her flannelized version of Purple Little Bird by Greg Foley.
Snow is falling at Loons and Quines! After giving us a preview of her Five Little Snowflakes flannel pieces, we've all been kept waiting to see the final product. Also included are her templates. Beautiful job, Library Quine!
Who doesn't love the song "The Lady with the Alligator Purse"? No one I can think of! Angela at valleystorytime has done a wonderful job of flannelizing it for our enjoyment.
Meghan at Busy Crafting Mommy has put together a set of color-themed felt boards and a handy slideshow of pictures to show us just how many pieces she made. Awesome job, Meghan!
Get ready for winter fun with Anne's "Snowball, Snowball" at her blog sotomorrow. This will be a great game to play on those chilly winter days.
storytime katie (so many Katies!) has a great game to teach children about shapes. All aboard!
Andrea at rovingfiddlehead kidlit has presented us with an Inspired By Flannel Friday post using Katie's (@sharingsoda) Royal Crowns board.
Our founder, Melissa at Mel's Desk, has Six Ducklings. She has included several songs that we could use it with, plus a template.
Alison at Miss Alison is Blogging has flannelized Jan Brett's The Mitten. I love the mitten with the pocket on the back! Alison has included the template for the animals direct from Jan Brett's website.
Do you love penguins? Then you'll adore Katie's (another!) Penguins at Story Time Secrets. They pack some serious squee factor, so be prepared. You'll find the templates in her post as well.
Mary's (Not) Flannel Friday is 100% flannel free, or so she claims. "Mrs. Mark's Favorite Color" is a file folder story from the hallowed book Storytime Magic by Kathy MacMillan and Christine Kirker. Check it out at Miss Mary Liberry.
Cate (!!) at Storytiming is making breakfast with Eggs for Breakfast. She was inspired by the book Ready-to-Go Storytimes by Gail Benton and Tricia Waichulaitis.
There won't be an entry from me today. However, I was inspired to make "Snowball, Snowball" for my winter clothing storytime next week. Thanks Anne!
Don't forget that all Flannel Friday entries can be viewed visually at our Pinterest page and add your voice to our Facebook page discussions. Anne has archived past Flannel Fridays and has the schedule of future hosts, as well as the two extravaganzas coming up.

Flannel Friday Roundup
Happy Flannel Friday! Here's a recap of the day's events:
Feeling antsy? Here's "Bug in a Rug" from Cate at Storytiming. She is also kind enough to share some of her flannel board war stories with us.
It's hard to believe that fall is here, but Katie at Story Time Secrets helps us ease into it with "Apples".
Linda at Notes from the Story Room entertains us with props from the story "The Clever One".
Anna from Future Librarian Superhero shows us a flannel board based on the book Time to Sleep. She also asks us for help in finding other uses for the pieces.
Mary from Miss Mary Liberry shares the quieting magic of the song "Little White Duck" and her flannel pieces for the song.
Mrs. Pirate takes us on a shopping trip on Sharon's Rain Makes Applesauce. How much do pirates pay for their earrings? A buccaneer!
See what I've been inspired to do with Tracey's "Pajama Song" on What Happens in Storytime...
Alison makes her Flannel Friday debut over at MiSS ALiSON iS BLOGGiNG with her supercute "Five Little Fireflies".
Getting ready for bed can be tough, but Anne at So Tomorrow has made it fun with this early literacy activity.
Andrea at rovingfiddlehead kidlit has "The Best Dressed Bear" on the block! I can't wait to play this game.
Our extra special (and only) international blogger, Library Quine at Loons and Quines @ Librarytime expands our cultural vocabulary with "Three Craws on a Wa'".
Pants on elephants? You bet! Check out Seth's post at The Voices Inside My Headphones for the pants craziness.
Ready for building? Need a toolbox? Katie at Storytime Katie shows how to make one.
Hop on over to Bridget's pond at What is Bridget Reading? to see her "Five Frogs" flannel board.
I'm sure Nicole's "Five Little Jellyfish" at Narrating Tales of Preschool Storytime are too cute to sting!
Melissa at Mel's Desk has us wishing for our princes with "There's a Castle in the Middle of the Moat".
Moxie Librarian at Storytime With Moxie treats us to two servings of apple flannel boards. "A-P-P-L-E" and That Apple is Mine by Katya Arnold.
