The Great Big Spider
--from Lapsit Services for the Very Young II by Linda L. Ernst. New York: Neal-Schuman Publishers, Inc, 2001.
*Ernst suggests using this version instead of its tiny counterpart because babies are able to use their gross motor skills before their fine ones. With this version, the young ones are able to participate more.

Flannel Friday - Petey the Pirate

Happy Friday, everyone!

This Flannel Friday post is brought to you by the lovely librarian ladies Kristi, Dorothy, and Emily!

Our reading program theme last summer was Dig Up a Good Book. To get the message out to the schools, Kristi and Dorothy created a trailer for the program. Starring in their debut roles were fabulous felt puppets Petey the Pirate and his sidekick Julie Child. Petey and Julie followed a treasure map around the library until they found the hidden loot: books!

This year, Dorothy and Emily put together another trailer for our Get a Clue at the Library summer program. It starred Investigator Petey and his lovely assistant, Julie.

They've already started on our bug theme for next year, too!

Thanks for sharing your awesome creations, ladies! It's amazing how much you can do with felt!

This week's roundup is hosted by Storytime ABCs. Hang out with us on our Facebook page, explore our Pinterest page, and our Flannel Friday blog.
