Flannel Friday - Thanksgiving Extravaganza Roundup

Thanksgiving is just three weeks away! Here are some flannels to get you in the eating mood!

It's a twofer from Kathryn at Fun with Friends at Storytime: Get your winter coat on, we're Going on a Turkey Hunt. Unfortunately, the Five Fat Turkeys have all run away, so it looks like we might have to have pizza instead!

Let your fingers do the dancing when you use Annie from So Tomorrow's turkey finger puppet.

Make sure you save some room for cake! Anne from itsybitsymom has a flannel version of The Cake that Mack Ate.

These Five Little Turkeys are ready for some fun! Check them out at Ms. Kelly at the Library!

This flannel board has me looking forward to some pumpkin pie! Thank you, Maggie, for sharing your Five Giant Pumpkins!

Speaking of pumpkins, these adorable jack-o-lanterns from Amy the One Little Librarian are sure to brighten anyone's day!

Jane at Piper Loves the Library featured community art projects at her library. It also looks like the spiders at her library had a party!

That's it for this week's roundup. Here are our upcoming events:
1. There will be no Flannel Friday on November 28 (the day after Thanksgiving in the US).
2. Our Winter Holiday Extravaganza will be on December 5 at Mel's Desk.
3. We will not have Flannel Friday on December 19 or 26.

I hope everyone has a happy November! You can also find Flannel Friday on FacebookPinterest, and at our Flannel Friday Blog. If you're new to Flannel Friday, don't forget to add your name and location to the Where Is Flannel Friday map.

Thanksgiving Extravaganza Placeholder

Welcome, Flannel Friday Friends, to the Thanksgiving Extravaganza placeholder! Post your Turkey Day flannel boards here for everyone to see! Don't have a new one this year? Let's see your Thanksgiving boards and activities that are tried and true! Or share a flannel board about food! Don't have any Thanksgiving boards? That's okay, too! Your posts don't have to be themed; we'd still love to see them.

Add your submission to the comments below. I'll add them to the roundup on Friday.

Okay, Flannelers, let's get cooking!

Flannel Friday Roundup - July 25

It's time for the extra special birthday roundup, as promised!

Kathy, who was a Birthday Princess yesterday, made her own version of Color Fish. She was inspired by Abby the Librarian.

Lisa from Thrive After Three is sharing her Five Little Princesses rhyme with us. She's even included templates! Could they be Birthday Princesses? I think so!

Hannah from Lovin' the Library is playing I Spy with Forest Animals. Can you spot the animal who sleeps all winter?

Fireflies are buzzing around Jane's library! Read all about her community art project at her blog, Piper Loves the Library.

Anne from itsybitsymom has a tres cute flannel of Five Dinosaurs in the style of "One Elephant Went Out to Play". Roar! Roar! Roar!

Here at my blog I've made up a new rhyme to go with an old flannel board: Five Birthday Candles.

You can also find Flannel Friday on FacebookPinterest, and at our Flannel Friday Blog. If you're new to Flannel Friday, don't forget to add your name and location to our Where Is Flannel Friday map.

Thank you to everyone for tuning in!

Flannel Friday Reboot - Five Birthday Candles

Happy Birthday to me (tomorrow)!!!

I posted an Inspired By flannel waaaaay back in November of 2011 called Five Birthday Candles. The post was inspired by Storytime Katie. I used the flannel today in storytime, but was in a rush and didn't have time to memorize Jane Cobb's rhyme again. I made up a super simple, yet interactive, chant to go along with it:

Five Birthday Candles
Five birthday candles on a birthday cake
Let's blow one out...
WHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Now there are four birthday candles on a birthday cake...
--Miss Mollie

I'm hosting the round up this week, so be sure to check back later. You can also find Flannel Friday on Facebook, Pinterest, and at our Flannel Friday Blog. If you're new to Flannel Friday, don't forget to add your name and location to our Where Is Flannel Friday map.

Inspired By Flannel Friday - Five Fat Hot Dogs

Friday, Friday, gotta be Flannel Friday!

This week's flannel board was inspired by Tracey from 1234 More Storytimes. I used clip art, just like Tracey, for the hot dogs. You can find the clip art here.

All of a sudden, one went

Inspired By Flannel Friday - Five Little Fireworks

Happy Independence Day to my fellow American Flannel Friday friends! This week's submission was inspired by Miss Tara.

Flannel Friday Roundup - June 13, 2014

Who says Friday the 13th is unlucky? No one can have a bad day when you have Flannel Friday on your side!

First up: Father's Day is on Sunday, and Kathryn from Fun with Friends at Storytime has Daddy's Ties. Her post was inspired by Katie from Storytime Secrets.

Check out the absolutely adorable Five Little Babies from Kristen at Library Village! I want to pinch their cute little felt cheeks!!

Our Honored Founder, Melissa from Mel's Desk, is back with a flannel version of Zingy by Paola Opal. Opal's books are my new favorites for baby storytimes. Beautiful work, Mel!

Hannah has adapted Jan Thomas' book, Can You Make a Scary Face, into an interactive puppet show. Her changes will keep those kids hopping this summer.

Lastly, I made stick puppets for the swimmingly good song, The Slippery Fish.

That's it for this week's roundup! You can find more Flannel Friday on FacebookPinterest, and at our blog. Have a great week, everyone!

Flannel Friday - The Slippery Fish

Look what I caught in my net today!

The clip art came from KandyMagick's Etsy shop. Thank you to the ladies at Jbrary for providing the song.

The great white shark (lurking in)
The humongous whale (spouting through; burp, burp, burp, excuse me!)

I'm the host of this week's Flannel Friday roundup. You can also find Flannel Friday on Facebook, Pinterest, and at our blog. Have a great week, everyone!

Craft: Horses for the New Year. Materials: Chinese New Year horses printout (on red paper), gold glitter, crayons, and glue. Craft: Horses for the New Year. Materials: Chinese New Year horses printout (on red paper), gold sequins, crayons, and glue.
