If You’re Happy and You Know It

If you’re happy and you know it,

Clap your hands.

If you’re happy and you know it,

Clap your hands.

If you’re happy and you know it,

And you really want to show it,

If you’re happy and you know it,

Clap your hands.

Repeat with stomp your feet, shout hooray, do all three.

Five Little Monkeys Swinging In a Tree

Five little monkeys swinging in a tree,

Teasing Mr. Crocodile, “You can’t catch me!”

When along comes Mr. Crocodile

AAAAAAAAAND SNAP!

Four little monkeys, etc…

--Traditional
*I'll admit I'm a sap. I change the end so that all the monkeys come back to tease Mr. Crocodile another day.

Parachute - Toddlers
Row Boat, Row Boat

Row boat, row boat go so fast (shake the chute fast).

Row boat, row boat go so slow (wave the chute slowly).

Row boat, row boat the waves are getting worse (shake fast again).

Row boat, row boat put it in reverse (stop the chute by pulling towards you).

Come Under My Umbrella

Come under my umbrella,

Umbrella, umbrella.

Gently wave the parachute up and down.

Come under my umbrella,

It’s starting to storm.

Move parachute faster.

There’s thunder and lightning

And wind and rain.

Come under my umbrella,

It’s starting to storm.

Ring Around the Rosie

Lead the group around in a circle.

Ring around the rosy
A pocketful of posies
"Ashes, Ashes"
We all fall down!

Everyone falls down.

Flannel Friday - No More Monkeys Jumping on the Bed!

TGI Flannel Friday!

After many years of going without, I finally made a bed for my Five Little Monkeys so that they could jump on it. I found a clipart picture of a bed, then printed it out on cardstock. I then cut out the individual pieces so that I'd have a stencil. Behold!

Don't forget to check out this week's roundup by Tracey at 1234 More Storytimes and see our work on Pinterest.

Flannel Friday - Five Little Monkeys

Today's Flannel Friday post is flashing back to my early days of storytime, back when I was still a shelver (eep!). This is the first flannel board I ever made.

"Five Little Monkeys Swinging From a Tree"
Five little monkeys swinging from a tree,
Teasing Mr. Crocodile, "You can't catch me!"
When along comes Mr. Crocodile
AAAAANNNNNDDDD SNAP!!!

Continue on until you have no monkeys left. Depending on the mood of the crowd, I either have the monkeys stay gone or climb back up the tree at the end of the song.

This week's roundup is hosted by @aflemming at rovingfiddlehead kidlit.
